I picked this up on e-Bay from a guy in Tampa who found it at a used sporting good store. The story he was told was a Lightning guy was bringing in a bunch of used Vipers equipment. Eric Schneider played for the Vipers in 00-01 and the IHL was using SP shirts that season. According to the 00-01 Detroit yearbook Eric was in camp and wearing #11. According to the Solar Bears game notes, Eric wore #33 during a call-up from Johnstown in the ECHL on December 8th 2000 against Orlando. I suspect the team used the previous years Bauer jerseys in camp. It shows way too much wear to have been used only in the preseason. There is evidence of at least 2 different name changes; a long one and a short one. According to Orlando game notes, Alek Stojanov wore #11 on December 10th, 1999 and Shawn Burr wore it 3 weeks later on December 30th. Alek had switched to #81 at that time. This Bauer ultrafil jersey is a size 56 with embroidered crest and two color tackle twill numbers. The plate has 1 color red letters sewn on. The name is 1 color and every other home white jersey I've seen is 2 color (red on plum). There is also a faint sign of the DC patch they wore for the 99-00 season on the right upper chest. This is conclusive evidence that Eric wore this only for the 2000 preseason and the jersey was recycled. The wear consists of a decent amount of stick and puck marks (no less that 50) and some blue board paint on the left shoulder. There are 5 or 6 small burns on the sleeves and shoulders as well. The inside shows very good pilling in the elbow and arm pit areas. The IHL & Bauer patches show some inside wear. Acquired on e-Bay 9/3/07 |
